The National Football League, commonly known throughout the country as NFL, produces a very exciting product that is beloved by all Americans. However, the NFL's market for talented football players is increasingly shrinking because of the lack of proper training and playing time that many NFL rookies just aren't getting. A proper minor league that is similar in structure to the minor leagues that Major League Baseball (MLB) uses to develop young players is what is needed to develop new upcoming players.
Take Kurt Warner, for example. Before he played in both the Arena Football League and in NFL Europe with the Iowa Barnstormers and the Amsterdam Admirals respectively, Kurt Warner was invited by the Green Bay Packers to attend their training camp, but was unfortunately cut. After his stints in both leagues, he went on to become the starter for the St. Louis Rams and eventually led them to the first Super Bowl win in the history of the Rams franchise. Any football player just coming out college and entering the professional ranks certainly has plenty of talent, but with no true avenue to build on their talent and potential under the eye of NFL teams, they cannot truly hope to have any success, thus not only limiting the careers of fine athletes, but also limiting the true potential of the game.
